Cassidy Pearson

Patterson gave me a lot of opportunities from close friendships to a NSEP Boren Fellowship in the Russian Far East, that have helped me advance my career. After graduating, I joined Customs and Border Protection in their Office of Accountability. I inspect CBP facilities and see if they are complaint with internal policy. My Patterson experience in creating executive summaries and practicing briefing, helped prepare me being a new employee informing the top management that their employees weren’t fully compliant.

In 2019, I helped create a new office called the Juvenile Coordinator’s Office that helps the court appointed Juvenile Coordinator inspect facilities along the Southwest Border and report  back to both CBP headquarters and the US District Court about compliance with Flores v. Reno requirements. Reports I have helped write have been quoted in news reports and utilized by the Judge to make decisions in the court.
