Kevely Dumay graduated from the Patterson School in 2020 with a major in diplomacy and a minor in commerce. After graduation he thought he would start his career in in the field of international development until an unexpected opportunity crossed his path. Kevely ended up accepting a position at Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers that work to create opportunities for Americans by advocating for beneficial economic policies. In this position, Kevely collaborates closely with some of the preeminent policy experts in Washington, D.C, representing the most reputable CEOs of major American companies on issues from tax and fiscal policy and international trade to workforce development and sound corporate governance.

Kevely says that he is enjoying his position at the moment and is focusing on gaining as much knowledge as possible from the best business leaders in the world. In the future he would like to parlay this experience into working for an organization that fosters private sector development in developing countries. The Patterson School prepared Kevely for his current role in three primary ways: he learned how to communicate complex information in a way that is easy to digest, he developed skills in writing concisely, and learned the importance of always being prepared. His advice for current Patterson students is to remain open to all opportunities, be a continuous learner, and learn to accept opposing viewpoints.
